The installer sets up CDMS Labs and its database as Windows services. Workstations open the system in Chrome or Edge over the LAN; PCs that use a webcam connect over HTTPS with the server's own certificate, trusted once per PC.
Backups run every night, encrypted with AES-256, and the dashboard turns red if none has completed in 24 hours. If the network drops, the offline banner appears and unsaved forms are kept on the PC until it returns.
