Nothing is overwritten: replacing a photo keeps the earlier version, and deleting only marks an image as removed. Images follow the result's status, locking on release and reopening only through an amendment.
A watched folder picks up exports from modality PCs and attaches them to the right result, with anything unmatched held for review. Exports are stamped with the clinic name, patient number, user and time. Backups include the image folder, which can be moved to another drive with every file verified as it is copied.
